What are the average apartment rental prices in Queens today?

Owners and management companies across Queens have historically attempted to maximize their rental income by incremental and frequent increases in rental prices charged to tenants. However, in light of the recent economic conditions rental prices in general have actually gone down in order to maintain normal levels of occupancy, especially in Manhattan. Rentals in Queens are down as well, but not to the same degree as some Manhattan reductions. Instead, some Queens’ owners are offering incentives such as covering the costs of the broker’s service fee or offering a free months rent – all in an effort to preserve the higher rental prices on average. These types of offers are a better deal for the short-term renter who will benefit from a lower one to two year average rental price. They are less appealing for renters seeking to stay in an apartment for many years. We have provided you with rent guidelines for different Queens’ neighborhoods here. These are general guideline which will you give you averages for current market rental prices. Please use these as a reference and benchmark when analyzing Queens’ rental prices today and also to assess which neighborhoods are within your budget. Of course there are some Queens’ apartments which may be cheaper or more expensive than what is listed here. Rents vary based on apartment characteristics such as size, condition, location, and so on. However these are reliable averages. We hope they assist you in your search.
